Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has offered a rather unusual suggestion to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following the team’s disappointing performance in the Lord’s Test against England.
Commenting on Pakistan’s situation in the ongoing match, Fawad Chaudhry said the team may not be able to save the game, but it should at least try to save its reputation.
In a post on social media platform X, he suggested that the PCB had two possible options. One, according to him, was for the board to openly say that it was unhappy with Sky Sports and refuse to continue playing.
His second suggestion involved captain Babar Azam announcing that the team would not play because of the treatment being faced former captain Imran Khan and the alleged increase in pressure following an interview with Sky Sports.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has formally lodged a complaint over Sky Sports broadcasting interviews with Qasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan during the Lord’s Test.
Pakistan’s poor batting performance has added to the team’s difficulties in the match. On the second day, Pakistan were bowled out for just 110 runs in their first innings.
By the close of play, England had reached 81 runs for the loss of three wickets in their second innings. England will resume their innings with a lead of 180 runs
